Here's an old doodle that I did back in late February/early March. It's a typical for me to make small drawings with lots of detail, though not always with a lot of success. I particularly like this image though.
Yesterday Marc and I were carving pumpkins and playing Halo at our friend Marie-Eve's place. It was a ton of fun and I was glad to have the chance to do a bit of sketching there. The guys made fantastic drawing models; they barely moved at all while they played until someone killed someone else :)
Here's a few sketches of some buildings that are in my neighborhood.
This one is often referred to as the "Flat Iron". It sits at the corners of Front St., Church St. and Wellington St. It's pretty close to the St. Lawrence Market in downtown Toronto.
This is a sketch of a building on Front St., just above the "Spring Rolls" restaurant. I like this image more than the first one because I didn't bother putting as much detail in it or finish it off completely.
This sketch was of the Steeple that sits on the grass to the side of St. James Cathedral. I finally got brave enough to start putting in some watercolour into my images and then a huge rain cloud chased me out of the park. I made it home just as it started to rain.
For the last two years or so I've been working on a film called Gnomeo & Juliet. It's based off of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet but with garden gnomes. I did a lot of texturing primarily on sets and props, as well as a little bit of help in the lighting and compositing department. I think the trailer looks great! Everyone on the project did an amazing job on it!!! =D
Another Elf. I think i need to start drawing something else for a change. Anyway, this one was drawn during last week's D&D night. I didn't have a chance to finish it so I think I'll keep it as an unfinished sketch.
Here's a quick sketch of my D&D swordmage character named Lyra. I drew her while waiting for Shatner to give a talk at the Toronto Fan Expo on Sunday. One of these days I'll figure out what her sword looks like.
So, like most people out there, I'm going to attempt to make a blog. I can't promise it'll be good, and I can't promise that I'll ever actually get around to posting again. However, if all goes well then this blog will help me to stay artistically inspired and will be a place for me to post my artwork! If not, at least I gave it a try :P
